Second Nature - Game Of The Year - Part I

Sometime just before Christmas, we gathered some fellow staff for a special Second Nature treat. Having recently announced the winners of TSA’s Game of the Year, we decided to get together and have a fun festive chat together. I apologise for some quality issues, but the limitations of skype and people’s microphones is something we can’t avoid. Also, we apologise for the issues that Lorcan provided including knocking his external hard drive which was recording a local channel of his audio, and then for disappearing at the end of the show. We decided to split this episode into two segments as  it was crazy long and took an interesting turn about half way through. So sit back and enjoy the first half.

As always the show is available on iTunes, via the RSS or, if you like your content in a less automated fashion, just grab the here. Feel free to drop up us a line at secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com with comments, suggestions, or recommendations of, well anything really.

Second Nature - Episode 26 - Error

Well that could’ve gone better. During this weeks show, Kris’ computer died on us about four or five times so it’s a little bit disjointed this week. So we apologise about the quality but after recording for almost two hours we’d run out of time to redo any of it properly.

Second Nature - Episode 25 - Live Again

SNTSA2

Now, I shall keep this brief. Unfortunately for a while both Kris and I were too ill to get to do a podcast with any real quality. So, once we were both feeling somewhat chirpier, we decided to test an unscheduled live show. For that reason, you may well hear us chatting to what seem like imaginary people but it really is just some of you good folk here at TSA that were around when we wanted to broadcast. For future Second Nature Live shows we will be giving a more substantial warning and also have some exciting things in the work to increase the enjoyment of an already (possibly) fantastic show.

As always the show is available on iTunes, via the RSS gremlins or, if you like your content in a less automated fashion, just grab the MP3. Every time you download it you make an invisible counting imp shed a tear of joy.

Oh and big kudos to musical genius Lewis for our special intro for this week.

Second Nature - Episode 24 - Lost

SNTSA2

So as some of you will be aware Davs (djhsecondnature) is away at EuroGamer. Lucky sod. So while he’s off enjoying himself, and supposedly doing some form of work or something, I was joined by Lewis, otherwise known as TheSixthAxis’ very own Gastos84. Of course he had a few minor issues in getting here, like ending up six miles away, but once he did a fine time was had by all. So what was discussed? Well Uncharted 2, SmackDown vs Raw 2010, Gears of War 2 and my personal favourite ‘Mystery Game X’ were all discussed at length as well as James ‘Batman’ Bond, our inability to use level creators and how bad certain Cadbury’s Haloween cakes are. So with all that available why not take a listen.

As always the show is available on iTunes, via the RSS gremlins or, if you like your content in a less automated fashion, just grab the MP3. Every time you download it you make an invisible counting imp shed a tear of joy.

Sadly we are not as happy as our counting imps. While we have received some mail we could always use more, and you’ll make us happy. You do want that right? Right? Drops up us a line at secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com with comments, suggestions, or recommendations of cakes that don’t leave a nasty taste in your mouth.

Finally thanks again to Peter for once again providing us with ending music. The man truly is magical.

Second Nature Experiments: Part 1 and 2

SNTSA2

Well this didn’t quite go as planned. We decided to take a normal podcast and turn it on it’s head by playing a couple of games of FIFA whilst doing the normal show; making it part show, part commentary and part review. However, certain things happened and changed certain plans. Have a listen to find out what though.

Basically, tell us if it’s crap. It was just something we were testing out to see how it went and ultimately not the best game was chosen. If there’s something along these lines that you’d be interested to see how it might turn out, or just want us to make fools of ourselves don’t hesitate to let us know; especially with the latter. So go ahead and download it by visiting iTunes, using the magic of RSS or clicking this link.

Second Nature - Episode 23 - Among Thieves

SNTSA2

Previously on Second Nature. Illness struck down half of Second Nature. Not this week though, we are back to full fitness and bring you another stellar show. Most of the show was just me discussing a variety of new games including Uncharted 2, PES 2010 and Forza 3, with an interesting mix of gushing praises, disappointed criticisms and surprised pleasure.

By visiting iTunes, using the magic of RSS or heading over to grab the MP3 here, you’ll be making a tiny imaginary monkey incredibly happy. After the download figures from some of the more recent episodes we know more and more of you are listening. Yet our mailboxes are still surprisingly empty. So why send us some words about what you would like improving, what you really like and would like to hear more of, or anything of a similar nature to secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com. Oh and of course, if you use iTunes, please leave us a review good or bad.

Oh, and make sure to listen all the way to the end for the delightful treat courtesy of Peter. Cheers!

Second Nature - Episode 22 - Abridged

SNTSA2

This week is a bit unusual. Illness struck down one half of Second Nature with some weird bug (I assume Kris meant a virus rather than a beetle). We didn’t want to find out what would happen if we didn’t release a show this week, but we also couldn’t do one of full length. Welcome in Second Nature mini; episode 22 is shorter than normal for the primary reason that Kris’ voice was giving out and he was a few seconds away from passing out on his bed. We do cover some Batman: Arkham Asylum, Flashpoint and Critter Crunch, but a distinct lack of energy drink references or cake review shows how ill Kris was. So we hope you can make do with a shorter Second Nature for now.

To pick up this smaller than normal file, either visit iTunes, the wonders of RSS or just download the MP3 here. The bandwidth gremlins were coughing and moaning - just like Kris - due to the unusually high number of downloads for recent shows which we really appreciate.

We do however always want to improve, so please email us at secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com, rather than leave nasty comments on iTunes. However, if you want to provide positive or negative feedback on iTunes, make sure to get your entire family to do it as well.

Second Nature - Episode 21 - Mon Tage

SNTSA2

Another week, another great episode of Second Nature. On this weeks show we talk in length about FIFA 10, Uncharted 2, Katamari Forever and ODST. In and around more reviews of Relentless, is talk of a particular advert, Sony’s advertising, the PSPGo launch, before finishing off with some cake.

Whilst cake is rather splendid, technology allows multiple avenues for you to download Second Nature from from, so either visit iTunes, the wonders of RSS or go old school or just download the MP3 via here. Our space monkeys inform us of an increase in downloads of past episodes which suggests that a lot of you have gone back and listened to some old school Second Nature, which we’re very grateful for.

Second Nature - Episode 20 - Frangipane

SNTSA2

That’s right! I am back! For those of you that either didn’t notice or just didn’t care, for shame. Having suffered three weeks without the net I am not back to full strength and progressing nicely along at Eurogamer on my Internship. Enough about me though. Slightly later than we planned - I blame Kris - this weeks episode is available to download.

We begin this weeks show with everything we should have put in last weeks show, with all the mentioned links are at the bottom of the post. This week we talk a bit more about Shadow Complex, FIFA 10, Plants vs Zombies, Tales of Monkey Island along with plenty of blabbering about confectionery goods and the colours of energy drinks.

We were a bit strapped for time this week so we’ve delayed Question of the Week until next show, so if you have any suggestions or simply any comments on the show, please email us at: secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com.

With the wonders of the web you can grab Second Nature from either, iTunes, the wonders of RSS or go old school and just download the MP3 via this link. If you fancy getting any older Second Nature episodes and don’t like using iTunes, head on over to the Second Nature site to get any of our shows.

Second Nature - Episode 19 - With TSA

So here it is, the first show for Second Nature as the regular TSA podcast. Episode 19 of Second Nature may be a little shorter than we usually do, just as we get back into the swing of things but we discuss several games, and a tad of news on top of the usual ramblings about food and our current location.

Feel free to provide criticisms (and equally undying love) in the comments as we always want to improve. As of next week, we will have the infamous Question of the Week back so by all means send in your suggestions to secondnaturepodcast [at] gmail [dot] com.

If you want to get hold of it, you can grab it from iTunes, from the wonders of RSS or go old school and just download the MP3 via this link.
